Dura-Lite Heat Transfer Products Ltd., established in 1992, is a Canadian company based in Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the design and manufacture of high-performance heat transfer solutions for turbo-diesel powered equipment.
Our product range includes charge air coolers (CACs), radiators, and testing equipment, serving industries such as heavy-duty trucking, transit, motorcoaches, construction, and industrial applications.
Duralite Origins
The company's inception traces back to the late 1980s when our founders operated a repair shop in Calgary. Frequently encountering leaking charge air coolers, a problem attributed to thermal expansion and contraction that made lasting repairs unfeasible. Recognizing the need for a more durable solution, we embarked on extensive research and development, culminating in the launch of our Round Tube™, New Generation™, and Ultimate Solution™ charge air cooler in 1992.
This innovative product, later rebranded as Evolution® featuring several key design enhancements:
- Silicone Grommets at the tube-to-header joints to accommodate thermal expansion and reduce stress.
- Oval Tubing for improved airflow and heat transfer efficiency.
- Increased metal thicknesses to strengthen weak areas prone to failure from thermal fatigue.
Growth of Duralite and Industry Recognition
Duralite's commitment to quality and innovation led to partnerships with major truck and engine manufacturers, becoming the official aftermarket charge air cooler supplier for Detroit Diesel, Freightliner, Mack, Volvo, International/ Navistar, and Prevost.
In recognition of our product reliability, Duralite introduced a 7-year, million-mile guarantee on our Evolution charge air coolers, setting a new industry standard for warranty coverage.
Recent Developments at Duralite
In 2024, Duralite launched the "Million Mile Club" contest to identify customers whose vehicles have achieved the highest mileage and longest service duration with an Evolution charge air cooler installed. The contest offered prizes and commemorative stickers to participants, celebrating the longevity and performance of our products.
