Heavy Duty Radiators

A heavy duty truck radiator is a large cooling-system component designed to remove excess heat from the engine of commercial trucks, buses, construction vehicles, and other high-load vehicles.

How it works:

  • The engine generates heat while running.
  • Coolant (a water/antifreeze mixture) circulates through the engine and absorbs that heat.
  • The hot coolant flows into the radiator.
  • Air passing through the radiator's fins carries the heat away.
  • The cooled coolant returns to the engine to repeat the cycle.

Why heavy-duty truck radiators are different compared with radiators in passenger cars? Heavy-duty truck radiators are:

  • Larger to handle bigger engines.
  • More durable to withstand vibration, long operating hours, and harsh conditions.
  • Higher capacity because diesel engines in trucks produce large amounts of heat, especially when hauling heavy loads.
  • Manufactured with aluminum cores, copper-brass cores, and reinforced headers and tanks for longevity.
